Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background; the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
* Assist with monitoring the media for news stories of interest to the UNIC/UN;
* Research, draft and/or update content (on-line as well as off-line) for the public information outreach/advocacy, with guidance from UNIC Director or subject matter experts and relevant substantive focal
* Assist with media outreach, e. g. distribution of press releases and other information materials to mass media and civil society organizations;
* Assist in organizing activities for the planned as well as ad hoc UN events (round tables, media engagement, conferences, MUNs, etc.);
* Assist with general support to overall public information activities, meetings, etc.);
* Assisting with news stories;
* Performing other related duties, as required.

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
* Applicants must be a student in a Bachelorâ€™s (final year), Masterâ€™s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelorâ€™s, Masterâ€™s or PH.D. Programme.
* Be computer literate in standard software applications;
* Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
* Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and
Applicants are not required to have professional experience for participation in the programme. However, a field of study that is closely related to the internship position you are applying to is required.
Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English is required for the internship. Knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable.
